Welcome to the WKU Installation Art collaborative blog.
I have been inspired to create this virtual work-in-progress by two main sources: 1) the University of Wyoming and sculpture professor Ashley Hope Carlisle's sculpture blog, which can be seen here:

I thought, what better way to birth this project than an image of an installation artist's favorite part of the process (!) : transporting her work to a gallery for a two-day install consisting mostly of moving heavy objects and crawling around on the floor. This type of load usually gets strange looks on the interstate. Luckily, the Volvo sedan, retro-fitted with trailer hitch and pulling a load of concrete / steel armatures (painted pink and protected by foam, bubble wrap and tape) only needed a bit of a cool down before continuing on the journey. I think the rain helped that process. And MORE luckily, this artist has a partner-in-crime to assist her with said moving of heavy objects. Working with materials, space and time can be tough. Involve others.
