Artist statement: I sought to activate this space as a sitting area. The knots and wrapping add warmth and a sense of human touch to an area that is otherwise uninviting, isolated and unsheltered.

Artist statement: This piece works with both sound and space, allowing recorded sounds to travel through an open stairwell. The space provides a natural reverb/ delay and creates an atmospheric sound.

Gabby Kempter, "Peace Tree," balloons, string, tree

These shots show three different times of day on Monday, as the balloons started to pop, lose air, and escape.

Artist statement: I wanted to create a peaceful space, a space under the tree for someone to sit under, look up, and see color, light, and feel the balloons move with the wind.

Artist statement: This piece divides the courtyard and was created a space around the fountain for the viewer to inhabit. The name references the fact that the fountain serves as a clock, and illustrates the way in which things overlap each other.
