This piece was inspired by climate. Having just been in warm, sunny California and coming back to the cold of Kentucky, climate was something that was at the forefront of my mind. My intention was to depict the yearning for warmth that I had through the use of warm-colored string. I placed the installation piece in front of a window to contrast the "warmth" with the visual cold that could be seen outside (bare trees and grey skies).
