If you wanted to bring attention to the space I believe this is a very effective way to do it. You succeeded in causing the viewer to second glance the space as well as become aware to the spaces in which we occupy everyday. A building I walk by everyday. An alleyway people may glance down. This approach could bring light to many spaces. Did you consider color? Color of course would add context regardless of your intention, but if it was merely an attempt to activate the space then white keeps it in that frame of mind.
