Crayons are colored wax sticks meant for drawing in color, and are most often used by young children.  Being wax they melt and become a liquid capable of applying pigment in very different ways from the traditional liquid mediums of paint and ink.  Crayon Color Drip Drops explores these qualities of Crayons.

It has been placed by the art education room because of its ties with and admiration from children and those who teach them.  It was created by melting Crayons over canvases to form abstract color panels.  The drops quickly solidify upon touching the canvases, except when pools are formed, making them have little movement in the mark making, splashes being the only exception.  The colors are separated to make it more about the materials unique form of mark making possible. And, the location was chosen because of its relationship with children.
