   PROJECT 3

INHABIT
For Project 3, students each have use of a small gallery space on the second floor of the Ivan Wilson Fine Arts Center for a week. Every week we end their time with a critique, and the space is passed to the next student. The space measures 16' long by 8' tall and just under 3' deep. It is fronted by a 3-paned sliding glass door.

Week 9: Elaina Smith; "Sacred Art;" materials: drywall, linoleum, pedestal

  1. I still think this is one of my favorite from the semester. I hope the walls stay this way. I think it makes all the art pieces that are in there look more professional and more noticeable.

  2. i did a double take when I walked by and looked to see your installation at first i was like thats weird she hasn't done anything yet, then I realized that actually you had completely redone the space. it does feel empty and it feels like it is waiting for something to be placed there. The space being empty is not all that strange really but somehow feels less ok when it is so clean and white and especially when you add the pedestal and the light.
